Bugaboos


BUGABOOS are a set of soaring granite spires in a spectacular glacier region of the northern PURCELL MTS, south of GOLDEN. The area, known worldwide for its spectacular backcountry SKIING and MOUNTAINEERING, was first explored in 1910. Some of the taller spires (the tallest is 3,400 m) were first climbed in 1916 by a party guided by Conrad KAIN. BC Parks maintains a hut named after him as a base for climbers.
