Bonaparte Plateau


BONAPARTE PLATEAU is a 1,000 sq km area of rolling subalpine FOREST northwest of KAMLOOPS between the N THOMPSON R and FRASER R. It is part of the traditional territory of the SECWEPEMC (Shuswap) people but was largely isolated from outside contact until post-WWII, when sport fishers, hunters and loggers began arriving in greater numbers.
