Black, David Kenneth Mckenzie "Ken"


BLACK, David Kenneth McKenzie "Ken," golfer (b 23 July 1912, Montreal; d Nov 1995). He grew up on the Shaughnessy GOLF course under the tutelage of his golf-professional father Davie BLACK and became Canada's top amateur golfer of the 1930s. Ken won the BC Open in 1932 and the Canadian Western Open in 1941. He was BC amateur champion 3 times, BC closed champion in 1945 and in 1939 became the first British Columbian to win the Canadian amateur championship. He played on 9 Willingdon Cup teams...
