Bionda, Jack


BIONDA, Jack, lacrosse player (b 18 Sept 1933, Huntsville, ON; d 3 Nov 1999, London, ON). Perhaps the best box LACROSSE player in the history of the game, he came to BC in 1954 to play for the VICTORIA Shamrocks, winning the league scoring title and leading them to the BC championship. In every full season he played Bionda was the league's scoring champion, winning the accompanying Dennis Huddlestone Trophy 6 times. His best season was in 1959 when he was named league MVP and scored 74 goals...
