Bentall, Charles


BENTALL, Charles, engineer (b 16 June 1882, Felsted, England; d 6 Nov 1974, Vancouver). He left school at age 13 to train as an engineer in his native England before immigrating to Ontario in 1907. He moved west to VANCOUVER the next year and in 1911 joined Dominion Construction. By 1920 he owned the company, and over the next 3 decades he made it the leading builder in the city (see BENTALL CORP).
