Banks Island


BANKS ISLAND, 855 sq. km, BC's sixth-largest ISLAND, is located on the east side of HECATE STRAIT opposite the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS, 80 km south of PRINCE RUPERT. Separated by Principe Channel from PITT and McCauley Islands, it is exposed and uninhabited and lies in the traditional territory of the KITKATLA First Nation, whose village is just north on Dolphin Island.
