BAKER, Norman, basketball player (b 17 Feb 1923, Victoria; d 23 Apr 1989). He developed his skills in NANAIMO before winning the Canadian BASKETBALL championship with the VICTORIA Dominoes in 1939 when he was only 16. He led the Dominoes to 2 more Canadian championships in 1942 and 1946, and in 1943 he won the championship with the Patricia Bay Royal Canadian Air Force club, scoring a record 38 points in one game of the series.
