Badminton


BADMINTON was first played in Canada in the late 1890s by military personnel at the Imperial Opera House in VANCOUVER. In 1900 play commenced at the Beatty Street Drill Hall, which served as the city's main badminton club until 1928. Once VICTORIA became a competitive badminton centre as well, the 2 cities began holding matches, the first one taking place on 2 Dec 1913.
