Alexander, Richard Henry


ALEXANDER, Richard Henry, businessman (b 26 Mar 1844, Edinburgh, Scotland; d 29 Jan 1915, Vancouver). He joined a group of OVERLANDERS who crossed Canada in 1862 to try their luck in the Cariboo goldfields (see GOLD RUSHES). After working at a variety of jobs he joined the HASTINGS MILL as an accountant in 1870 and in 1882 became mill manager.
