150 Mile House


150 MILE HOUSE, pop 1,142, on the Cariboo Hwy (see ROADS AND HWYS) 15 km south of WILLIAMS LAKE, was once an important stopping place on the way to the CARIBOO goldfields (see also GOLD RUSH, CARIBOO). Originally pre-empted in 1861 by Thomas Davidson, the site flourished after the CARIBOO WAGON ROAD was routed through it 2 years later.
