Yarrow Point


Yarrow Point (48˚38'00" 123˚29'00" W side of Coles Bay and Saanich Peninsula, NW of Victoria). Named in 1946 to recognize the war work done by Yarrows Ltd, Esquimalt’s largest shipyard. In the years leading up to WWI, Sir Alfred Yarrow (1842–1932), owner of a famous shipyard on the R Clyde at Glasgow, sought to acquire a plant in N America.
