Yakan Point

Yakan Point (54˚04'00" 131˚50'00" Just W of Tow Hill, N side of Graham I, QCI). Named after the Haida First Nation reserve and former village of Yagan, which was located at this site. Yagan was an Eagle crest community that, at the time of geologist George Mercer Dawson’s 1878 visit, was only occupied seasonally, when fishing for halibut and dogfish took place.
