Woodruff Bay


Woodruff Bay (51˚58'00" 131˚02'00" SE end of Kunghit I, S of Moresby I, QCI). Samuel Woodruff (b 1743), a native of Connecticut, was present on the BC coast in 1778 as a gunner’s mate with HMS Discovery, on Capt James Cook’s last great voyage, 1776–80.
