Winter Harbour


Winter Harbour (50˚32'00" 128˚00'00" Head of Forward Inlet, NW side of Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I). Forward Inlet and Winter Hbr provide an important sanctuary for vessels rounding or heading for N Vancouver I, especially in winter, when storms are more frequent and violent. The community of Winter Hbr, originally called Queenstown, got its start in the early 1900s, when a clam cannery was built.
