Willow Point


Willow Point (49˚58'00" 125˚12'00" N of Ocean Grove, S end of city of Campbell R, E side of Vancouver I). The name first appears on an 1860 Admiralty chart that was based on a survey by Capt George Richards. There are fossils on the point, and evidence of ancient First Nation village sites. The Lekwiltok people knew this area as Kahushian, Kwakwala for “place of bad waters.” A small community of white settlers grew up there at the end of the 19th century.
