Williamson Passage


Williamson Passage (49˚39'00" 126˚23'00" Muchalat Inlet, N of Gore I, just E of Nootka Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named after RN officer John Williamson (d 1798), who visited Nootka Sd with Capt James Cook in 1778 as 3rd lt of HMS Resolution and returned to England in 1780 as 1st lt of HMS Discovery, the consort vessel on Cook’s third expedition.
