Wilkie Point


Wilkie Point (51˚08'00" 127˚43'00" Burnett Bay, W of Belize Inlet, SE of Cape Caution, NW entrance to Queen Charlotte Str). Able Seaman Claude Osmond Wilkie, of Victoria, died at Comox on July 11, 1940, aged 31, while serving aboard HMCS Armentières, which functioned as an RCN patrol and examination boat on the BC coast during WWII. He is buried at Esquimalt’s Veterans Cemetery.
