Weld Cove


Weld Cove (52˚48'00" 128˚46'00" W side of Laredo Inlet, S part of Princess Royal I). According to a record at BC’s Geographical Names Office, Samuel Weld was an English lawyer who immigrated to the US in the 1850s and worked in Chicago before coming to BC. In 1862, Gov James Douglas appointed him magistrate of the Stikine territory.
