Weewanie Creek


Weewanie Creek (53˚41'27" 128˚47'11" Flows SW into Devastation Channel opposite N end of Hawkesbury I, S of Kitimat), Weewanie Hot Springs (53˚41'48" 128˚47'20" Just N of Weewanie Ck). The name comes from the Haisla First Nation word wiwaa, meaning “many creeks.” The remains of a logging operation are still visible at the mouth of Weewanie Ck. In 2004 the hot springs were designated a 35-ha provincial park; a bathhouse is provided for the enjoyment of weary visiting boaters....
