Wallace Point


Wallace Point (48˚44'00" 123˚14'00" S end of N Pender I, Gulf Is). Peter William Wallace (d 1875) was assistant surgeon on HMS Satellite, under Capt James Prevost, when it was posted to the Pacific Station in 1857. He was appointed to the rudimentary naval hospital at Esquimalt as medical officer, 1857–65, after which he was promoted to surgeon.
