Wallace Island


Wallace Island (48˚57'00" 123˚33'00" Trincomali Channel, off NE side of Saltspring I, Gulf Is). The island was named in 1905 by Cdr John Parry of HMS Egeria, in association with nearby Houstoun Passage (qv). Capt Wallace Houstoun had served on the Pacific Station in 1853–56. Another RN surveyor, Capt George Richards of HMS Plumper, originally named this feature Narrow I, in 1859.
