Wall Islands


Wall Islands (52˚52'00" 129˚21'00" Off N end of Rennison I, Caamaño Sd, W of Princess Royal I). William Henry Wall (1857–1932) emigrated in 1864 from England to Vancouver I, where his family ran a hotel at S Wellington. He married BC-born Naomi Malpass (1865–1915) at Nanaimo in 1880; her parents had come to Nanaimo in the Princess Royal in 1854 to mine coal for the HBC. William worked as a mechanic at the Nanaimo collieries, rising to the position of chief engineer at the New Vancouver...
