Wakash Point


Wakash Point (52˚10'00" 127˚54'00" SE side of Cunningham I, just E of Bella Bella). Named in 1924 by the hydrographic service after Wakash (or Wacash), who is described in the 1834 journal of HBC fur trader and medical officer William Tolmie as the most powerful of the Heiltsuk First Nation chiefs from that era. Formerly known as Fanny Point.
