Wadhams


Wadhams (51˚31'00" 127˚30'00" E side of Rivers Inlet, SE of Bella Bella). A large salmon cannery was built here in 1897 by Edmund Abraham Wadhams (1833–1900), who was born in NY state and travelled W in 1849, then followed the various gold rushes from California to the Cariboo. At Victoria, in 1864, he married Bertha Rosamond Wilson (1846–85), who had come out to BC in 1862 in the famous brideship Tynemouth.
