Ursula Channel


Ursula Channel (53˚25'02" 128˚54'46" E side of Gribbell I, N of Princess Royal I, S of Kitimat). According to anthropologist Jay Powell, a former UBC professor, this 17-km channel is divided into five traditional Haisla First Nation stewardship zones named, from N to S, Wiilaxdels, Slacu, T’lekemalis, Wawagelisla and Luq’wayac’i. The part of the channel between Egerton Point and Angler Cove is known to the Haisla as Ogwiwalis.
