Troup Narrows


Troup Narrows (52˚17'00" 128˚00'00" NE end of Troup Passage), Troup Passage (52˚15'00" 128˚04'00" Between Chatfield I and Cunningham I, just N of Bella Bella). Capt James William Troup (1855–1931) was born at Vancouver, Washington, and learned the steamboat trade on the Columbia R. After marrying Frances Julia Stump (1860–1938) he came to BC in 1883 to join the Canadian Pacific Navigation Co, but returned three years later to manage the steamship arm of the Oregon Rwy & Navigation Co....
