Tinson Islands


Tinson Islands (50˚59'00" 127˚32'00" Part of the Southgate Group, NW side of Queen Charlotte Str, N of Port Hardy), Tinson Point (49˚12'00" 123˚51'00" N end of Gabriola I, W of Pilot Bay, Gulf Is). Lt Charles Wills Tinson (b 1883) was involved in re-surveying these vicinities as an officer aboard HMS Egeria, 1901–8. Both features were named by Cdr John Parry, the Egeria’s cdr, 1903–6.
