Texada Island


Texada Island (49˚40'00" 124˚24'00" E side of Str of Georgia, S of Powell R). Spanish naval officer José Narváez, who explored the Str of Georgia in 1791 (the first European to do so) with the Santa Saturnina, originally gave the name San Felix to what is now Texada I, probably because he was there on July 12, the feast day of this 3rd-century Christian martyr from Milan.
