Tate Lagoon


Tate Lagoon (52˚22'50" 128˚13'20" Don Peninsula, W side of Spiller Channel, N of Bella Bella). Flight Sgt George Douglas Watson Tate, from New Westminster, was killed in action June 27, 1943, age 21, when his Vickers Wellington medium bomber was shot down during a night raid. He was serving with RCAF No 432 Squadron, based at York, England. His name is inscribed on the Runnymede Memorial near Windsor, UK.
