Surge Narrows


Surge Narrows (50˚14'00" 125˚09'00" SE end of Okisollo Channel, between Quadra I and S end of Maurelle I, NE of Campbell R), Surge Point (50˚13'00" 125˚08'00" Just E of Surge Narrows). The current in these tidal rapids can reach 12 knots (22 km/h) at peak flows. Surge Narrows Provincial Park, established in 1996, protects a 488-ha zone surrounding the rapids, which are noted for their rich marine ecosystem.
