Surf Inlet


Surf Inlet (52˚57'00" 129˚01'00" W side of Princess Royal I). This remote fjord once led to one of BC’s most productive gold mines. The name reflects the inlet’s direct exposure to Caamaño Sd and the open Pacific; its waters can get rough, especially near the entrance. Princess Royal’s gold, silver and copper reserves are located at the N end of the island but were more easily exploited from Surf Inlet.
