Stubbs Island


Stubbs Island (49˚09'00" 125˚56'00" Between Tofino and Vargas I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Capt Napoleon Fitzstubbs (d 1903), a British Army officer whose surname was often written Fitz Stubbs, was an early PNW tourist, coming to BC in 1860 aboard the Athelstan with his friend Charles Barrett-Lennard (see Lennard I).
