Stewart Bay


Stewart Bay (53˚41'00" 132˚10'00" E side of Masset Inlet, at Port Clements, Graham I, QCI). This feature was named in 1907 by Eli Tingley, who founded the townsite of Port Clements, after his friend Allan Stewart. QCI historian Kathleen Dalzell tells the story of how Stewart, who was helping Tingley search for land, accidentally cut his foot with an axe while setting up camp at this location.
