Stackhouse Island


Stackhouse Island (50˚51'00" 126˚39'00" W of Gregory I, Sutlej Channel, off N side of Broughton I, NE of Port McNeill). Lt Thomas Stackhouse served on HMS Sutlej on the Pacific Station, 1863–64. He entered the RN in 1844, retired as a cdr in 1870 and reached the rank of capt, retired, in 1878. The Sutlej was the flagship of station cdr-in-chief Rear Adm John Kingcome.
