Spratt Bay


Spratt Bay (49˚45'00" 124˚31'00" NE side of Texada I, SE of Sturt Bay, Malaspina Str). This name appears as Spratt’s Bay in annual reports of BC’s Ministry of Mines as early as 1896 but was not officially adopted until 1950. It most likely honours Charles Joseph V Spratt (1873–1941), who owned the nearby Raven group of claims in 1897 with partners Edward Blewett, William Blewett and J Wilson.
