Spicer Island


Spicer Island (53˚46'00" 130˚22'00" Between Schooner Passage and Beaver Passage, Browning Entrance, S of Porcher I and Prince Rupert), Spicer Point (53˚46'00" 130˚19'00" E tip of Spicer I). RN officer Napoleon Alexander Ralph Spicer served on the Pacific Station, 1865–68, as 2nd lt of HMS Sparrowhawk, under Cdr Edwin Porcher. He retired in 1871. Named by RN surveyor Capt George Richards about 1860. The nearby Ralph Is also commemorate him.
