Soames Point


Soames Point (49˚25'00" 123˚29'00" W side of Howe Sd, NE of Gibsons, NW of Vancouver). George Soames (1832–1914), from England, was the first settler at this location, in 1888. He and his wife, Mary Ellen (1849–1926), also from England, and their children homesteaded there and received a Crown grant in 1890.
