Sloman Island


Sloman Island (49˚10'00" 125˚53'00" Entrance to Lemmens Inlet, Meares I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). James Sloman (1863–1944), from England, immigrated with his wife, Clara (1867–1944), to the US, where their son Harold (1897–1957) was born. The family arrived in BC in 1900. James, who had worked as a policeman, soldier, sheriff and railwayman, was listed as an engineer in the 1901 BC census but soon moved to Clayoquot Sd, where he was employed by Thomas Stockham and Walter...
