Sinnett Islets


Sinnett Islets (52˚32'00" 129˚20'00" SE of the Gander Group, off W side of Aristazabal I, Hecate Str). 2nd Cpl Charles Sinnett was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. In 1859 he was part of a squad of sappers, under Lt Arthur Lempriere, sent to explore and cut potential trails between Ft Hope and Boston Bar. Sinnett produced a fine map of this region, which accompanied Lempriere’s report. Sinnett Ck in the Tulameen area is also named for him...
