Sims Islet


Sims Islet (49˚43'25" 124˚11'10" In Blind Bay, S entrance to Jervis Inlet, SE of Powell R). Named in 1990 for Ordinary Coder John Richard Sims, from Vancouver, who died on Aug 12, 1944, aged 19, while serving with the RCNVR at HMCS Bytown, a naval shore establishment in Ottawa. He is buried at Vancouver’s Mountain View Cemetery.
