Sewell Islet


Sewell Islet (53˚26'00" 129˚52'00" Entrance to Mink Trap Bay, W side of Pitt I). Company Sgt Maj Travers Fenn Sewell, from Victoria, was serving with the Westminster Regiment (Motor) of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps in N Africa when he died from wounds, aged 33, on Apr 12, 1943. He is buried at Bone War Cemetery, Annaba, Algeria. This feature was formerly known as Canoe It.
