Scott Point


Scott Point (48˚50'00" 123˚25'00" E side of Saltspring I, W entrance to Long Hbr, Gulf Is). Horticulturist William Ernest Scott (1866–1934) was born in Yorkshire and immigrated to NZ in 1883, then lived in the W Indies. He arrived in BC in the early 1890s with his three brothers, Frank, Geoff and Harold, and settled on Saltspring, where he developed a 285-ha ranch known as Fruitvale, noted in the early 1900s for its orchards and dairy cattle.
