Schubert Point


Schubert Point (52˚19'00" 128˚21'00" SW side of Don Peninsula, opposite N end of Cecilia I, NW of Bella Bella). Named after Catherine O’Hare (1835–1918), a native of Ireland and the first European woman to come overland to BC from eastern Canada. She arrived in the US with her family in 1850 and married a German immigrant, Francis Augustus Schubert (1825–1908), in 1856.
