Schindler Point


Schindler Point (49˚11'00" 125˚56'00" SW tip of Meares I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Joseph Schindler (1882–1969), born in Oregon, entered the Roman Catholic Benedictine order in 1902 and was ordained as a priest in 1908. He became a missionary at Clayoquot, 1910–16, and was appointed principal of the Christie residential school at Kakawis, 1916–19.
