Saumarez Bluff


Saumarez Bluff (49˚52'41" 123˚54'13" W side of Prince of Wales Reach, SW of Vancouver Bay, Jervis Inlet, NW of Vancouver). Adm James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez (1757–1836), was one of the heroes of the RN. He was born on Guernsey, joined the navy as a young midshipman and was promoted to lt at the age of 19 for his bravery in action.
