Sangster Island


Sangster Island (49˚26'00" 124˚12'00" S of Lasqueti I, Str of Georgia). James Sangster (c 1812–58), a native of Port Glasgow, Scotland, joined the HBC’s marine dept in 1827 as an apprentice aboard the Eagle. From 1832 until the late 1840s he was mostly based at Ft Vancouver.
