Purcell Rock

Purcell Rock (52˚39'25" 127˚01'10" NE of Skowquiltz Bay, N side of Dean Channel, NW of Bella Coola). Supposedly named after a gold miner who prospected in this area in 1899—probably Michael E Purcell (1857–1925), from Wales, who had a long career as a mining engineer working mainly in Rossland.
