Princess Louisa Inlet


Princess Louisa Inlet (50˚11'00" 123˚48'00" E side of Queens Reach, N end of Jervis Inlet, NW of Vancouver). Capt George Richards of HMS Plumper named many features around Jervis Inlet in 1860 after Queen Victoria and the members of her immediate family. It is not exactly certain whether he had Princess Louise (1848–1939), the queen’s fourth daughter, in mind as this inlet’s namesake, or Princess Mary Louise Victoria, Duchess of Kent (1786–1861), the queen’s mother.
