Potts Lagoon


Potts Lagoon (50˚33'17" 126˚25'51" N side of W Cracroft I, Johnstone Str, E of Port McNeill). Murray Clarke Potts (1877–1954), from Ont, took courses in practical science at the Univ of Toronto, moved W and became a law student at Victoria in 1901. He married Catherine Louise Thompson (d 1948). In 1908, however, in a complete change of direction, he pre-empted land on the S side of this lagoon and fashioned a farm there, complete with cattle and a horse for ploughing.
