Potts Bay


Potts Bay (50˚39'01" 126˚37'16" NE side of Midsummer I, entrance to Knight Inlet, NE of Port McNeill). Named in 1959 for Flying Officer James Murray Clarke Potts, from Alert Bay, who was shot down over Burma on Jan 3, 1945, aged 24, while serving with No 215 (RAF) Squadron. His name is inscribed on the Singapore Memorial at Singapore’s Kranji War Cemetery.
